[LAW SCHOOL PHILIPPINES] How to Slay Every Recitation in Law School

Law school recitations in the Philippines are notoriously difficult not because our professors enjoy when we embarrass ourselves. They are difficult because they are meant to train us for the more rigorous oral arguments we will face now and in the future. Hindi ka man magpa-practice ng litigation, kapatid ay kakailanganin mo rin ang training na ‘to to improve your oral presentation skills. You will need to sell an idea, a direction or a legal theory to a client or your fellow lawyers. This recitation training will come handy one day.

Here are the five steps you’ll need to slay every recitation.

  1. Thank you very much Atty. Lex! I am very excited to enter in a law school hopefully next school year. I always watch your video every time I have free time in the college faculty.

  2. Than you Atty. Lex🙏 I will definitely do your tips. 1 month na po class namin pero never pa po ako natawag sa recitation. I hope I will be able to give it a shot pag natawag po ako❤️.God Bless po.

    1. Preparation is everything.

    3. Begin your answer with a deep inhale.
    4. Express yourself in the simplest possible manner.
    5. Honor your performance.

  5. hi sir! im a grade 12 student po. im just wondering if ano po ba ang nga habits nga pwede naming idevelop ngayon before entering law school? thank you po.

  6. Yung hindi ka nakabasa, dasal2 din pag may time na di ka mapick on deck. Tapos, ikaw pa talaga natawag. Naknang…. 😒 Double dead pa if may quiz na di diniscuss ng prof. 😟

  7. Tip: kapalan mo na mukha mo friend. And learn to let go 😉

I also have anxiety during recit but I found out that the more you memorize (and of course understand) , the easier it is to recite the 'legal terms' that most professors are waiting for. And yes, focus is key.

  8. Gusto ko yung part na “there are professors who make the recitation like a game show and have 3 or four students in front of the class. Okay lang yung kasi group kayong mapapahiya.” 😂 I really felt that kahit hndi sa law school pag group at least damay damay sa kahihiyan. 😂 charot lang anyway, this is really inspiring Atty. lex. Continue to enlighten and motivate law student they surely struggling a lot. ^_^ Thanks

  9. Atty. I doubt about the school is thinking about “first yr-adjustment schedule”
    I have 11 units in a day.
Persons (5 units) then Crim 1 (4 units) then Legal writing (2 units). And I only have sunday as restday. don’t know how to divide my time for 20 units subjects 😭
